Letters from the Field-Sis. Tobias #19

Dearest Missionary Enthusiasts!

I hope you all enjoyed your week as much as I did! 🙂  The Christmas Devotional was so neat, wasn’t it?!  I love President Monson sooo much!  I don’t think there is one other person on the Earth that has more love Exuding from him than President Monson!! If you didn’t get the priviledge to watch it, please do!!  You won’t regret it! 🙂

This week our numbers skyrocketed!  We have 7 progressing investigators!  My companion and I are wondering how we can be everywhere at one time.  At church, we feel pulled in every direction trying to help our investigators and our members feel comfortable and welcomed! 🙂  Ready for the miracles?  Stephanie, Marshall, and her 3 kids are all starting to investigate the church. We stopped by to visit her and she said, “I stayed up until 1 in the morning reading the Book of Mormon (3 Nephi)!  I just couldn’t put it down!  And then when I tried to put it down, It dropped open to Moroni 8 about baptism and I just had to keep reading that too! 🙂  Hehehe we were so excited!!!  She said, “I’m sold!!”

Kedrick is TOTALLY PSYCHED ABOUT GETTING BAPTISED!!! He’s almost too good to be true!  He’s Lakita’s boyfriend and has the most fun personality ever!!  We love to teach him because he’s chill with everything.  We set a solid date for him on December 22nd!! Yeyah! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Then we visited a lady named Alma and she is extremelly sensitive to the spirit!  We had a meeting and I’ve never had the spirit speak through me so boldly!  I grabbed her hand and looked her straight in the eye and promised her that if she got Baptised on the 22nd, she would have no more desire to sin and the spirit would direct her life more powerfully than ever before!  She was bawling and she wants to so badly!!

Ken is still goin strong!  He is struggling with giving up Coffee and Vodka, but we made him some cake for when he gets lonely at night and brought him a coffee substitute.  🙂  We have a perfect member to help him out also, so we really are so blessed to see this change in his life!

Then we met Fatima.  She grew up with Michael Jackson in Gary, Indiana!!! She was the most adorable person I’ve ever taught!! hahah! 🙂 When we taught her the Plan of Salvation, she threw her hands up in the air and yelled, “THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU LORD!!! I’ve always believed this, but everyone around me thinks I’m crazy!  My whole life I’ve always known there wasn’t just heaven or hell.  There was something else! :)”  She can’t wait for more.  She just kept saying, “Keep talking!  I’m hungry!!”

We visited a less active who works in a unique book store.  So we asked him if he had any copies of an old Book Of Mormon.  He said he did!  So when we looked back on his shelves, he pulled off a copy from 1853!!!!! Third edition from England!!! We were dying!!!! He didn’t really think much of it because he’s not really into reading it anymore…sadly! 🙁  Long story short, I have it now!!! He sold it to me for ten dollars!!! I am the luckiest sister in the world!! Haha 🙂  The elders are begging me for it….I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to keep it safe. 🙂  We hope that we can get Brother P. (and everyone, really!!) to have the same appreciation of this Marvelous book as we do!!!!! 🙂

On Preparation Day Last week, we got the BLESSED oppurtunity to go to the CATERPILLAR Museum!  (NOt the furry little cute insects…but the big giant tractor machines)!  So I attatched some pictures of those.  It’s the Headquarters!  That’s why everyone around here works there. 🙂  It’s really neat! We got to climb into the tractors and big 400,000 lb. trucks. 🙂

We had our ward Cmas Party!  10 investigators came that we invited! It was way exciting. 🙂  Hope you all have a wonderful week an enjoy the extraordinary air of Christmas!
