Good Morning Wintery Snowmen and Women!

T’was wonderful getting to work with the mission president’s wife, Sister Jergensen this week! She was so helpful and encouraging. 🙂 At Zone Conference, we all reported our baptismal numbers and our mission president was so nice to my companion and I.  He told all of the Elders that they needed to step up to our level.  I was like, “But it’s not even us!  It’s the spirit!”  Then he laughed and said, “I’ve waited all of my mission to say that about the Sisters.”  But seriously…we’ve been very blessed with amazing investigators and we don’t feel like it’s anything we do (except pray and be strive to be obedient)!

But don’t get too excited.  Yesterday was really devastating with our investigator Lois….  She told us about something about her past, and now we know that she’ll need to talk to the mission president before she gets baptised.   But we were grateful she was open with us.  She felt so guilty and sad about her past that she was throwing up and crying.  Satan is definitely at work trying to discourage our progressing investigators… 🙁 Hopefully it will only push her back one week…but we’ll have to see!  We’re sorry about what happened.  But we are confident that we can have ONE sure baptism by the end of the year in this area. 🙂

On the bright side, (Because it’s much more uplifting to hear about) Ken Westerdale is the BEST!  He is humble and seriously striving to keep commitments.  We found out that he is 83 years old!!! He went 3 days without coffee, and he started drinking it since he was 6 years old. He’s been praying and reading the Book of Mormon daily and has intense questions about what it’s talking about.  It’s a huuuuge deal because he hasn’t been a believer is God since college.  Yesterday he came to church 30 mins early and held the door open for everyone coming into the building!! Oh we just about died! Hehe 🙂  The sad thing is…I don’t think anybody even invited him to sit by them.  :S  My missionary advice to you…YOU BETTER INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO VISITORS AT THE CHURCH and invite them to sit by you!!!! That is what Christians need to do. :0)

We were able to meet with Lois 3 times this week.  We watched “Mr. Kruegar’s Christmas” and she said, “Oh I want to tell everyone in the world to go watch that!  Seriously!”  So she told us some names that she wants us to go visit.  I’ll let you know how that goes! 🙂 We also got to visit some Less-Actives that haven’t been visited for a very long time.  Miracles happen in the IDMM. 🙂  Oh!  And I left my coat at the last Zone Meeting, and it didn’t even snow the whole 2 weeks before I got it again!  So heavenly Father is looking out for me! 🙂

I love my savior!  Please ponder what Mosiah 4:11-12 says about Joy, and then read what the Angel said in Luke 2 when he declared “Tidings of Great Joy” through the Savior! I testify that the only way we feel true Joy in this life is by utilizing the atonement in our daily prayers through repenting. 🙂

Anyone who is even considering serving a mission, whether you are 18 or 80…. please pray to know where the Lord would have you serve. I promise you will receive an answer that will bless your life immensely! 🙂  Even if you don’t have a badge, you’ve got a testimony that will help you serve where He needs you! 🙂

Love,

Sister Tobias 🙂
