Woah!  What a week!  I’ll just blurt out what happened over the weekend super quickly because I am so excited about it. 🙂 🙂 🙂

OKAY.  So one-eyed, one-leg Randy is THE MOST ADORABLE person to teach!!  Ah!  He loves to act, so he’s naturally super funny.  Then he loves cats and singing, and the Lord!  So everything goes so well when we teach him.  We set a baptismal date for the first weekend in July, but he has progressed so quickly we are moving it up!

On Saturday, we invited him to a baptism the elders were having in our branch and he totally came!  And so of course, we asked him if He could see himself doing that someday and he said, “Yeah.  The only thing I’m worried about is how they’re gonna get me down those steps with only one leg!”  Then.  Yesterday.  He. Came. To. Church!!!!!!  We explained to him that it was fast and testimony meeting so people in the audience will go up and give their testimony about Jesus Christ, and that he did NOT have to go up there.  There was SUCH a powerful spirit in the meeting! There was a funeral over the weekend, and so a lot of people talked about how thankful they were for the knowledge we have of the Plan of Salvation.  Then nobody went up for about 3 minutes and I totally wasn’t expecting anything, but RANDY STANDS UP AND WALKS TO THE FRONT OF THE ROOM!!!  We were completely shocked.  He bore the sweetest testimony about how he hasn’t been to His church for a year because of some trials that he has had.  For the last few months, he’d been really searching to know which path to walk down, and then he heard a knock at the door by some sister missionaries.  He thanked us for knocking on his door, and he said that He was very sure he will become a member of this church now. 🙂  Aw! Wow!!  That was one of my very favorite testimony meetings.  I love it when investigators bear their testimonies because they are so simple and pure.

I love the gospel so much, and I know that what we are doing here is God’s work.  I’m so thankful for the refiners fire that is showing me how I act in hard situations!  We all want to be more like our Savior, Jesus Christ, but sometimes we don’t realize what He went through to get that way.  So when we are going through the refiner’s fire…just be thankful you are becoming more like the Savior as you suffer through your afflictions. 🙂  That’s why we have them…I am learning that it’s so important to be humble and ask Heavenly Father to show you your weaknesses because you’ll need to make them strong so that the adversary won’t come and destroy you someday when you’re not paying attention!!  I have made so many mistakes and I haven’t always done the things that are right, but the atonement is amazing and has helped me know that Heavenly Father still loves me! 🙂  And I’m so thankful for my patient companion and that she has a sense of humor. 🙂

My love for the Savior has grown so much, and I hope that I can become more spiritually mature so that I can match His message as His Messanger.

With much love,

Sister Tobias 🙂
