How’s my favorite family?!! 🙂

Yesterday was really neat.  As usual, we talk to just about everyone we see.  Sometimes It’s really super awkward talking to people as they’re running into their house…but HEY!  Someone will need us eventually!  Haha 🙂  But this time it really paid off.  I saw this Mexican family and started speaking my horrible spanish with her.  She pointed to our nametags and said the name of the church in spanish and told me that she used to have the Elders come over in Guadalajara, Mexico and she’d feed them.  We were so excited!  So we scheduled a time to meet with her.  After about 45 minutes of trying to speak spanish (with her granddaughter as a translator) we found out that she was a member already!! haha She told us that she just didn’t know where to attend church now that she came to Pella.  So The Lord truly sent us to her. 🙂  We are going to try and teach her English.  Her daughter isn’t a member, and her granddaughter really wants to come too! BLESSINGS! 🙂  After we talked with her, I felt prompted to say a prayer.  I went to say it in English, but I knew that the Lord wanted me to speak Spanish so that everyone (except my companion) could understand it.  I was so SCARED!  I’ve never prayed in Spanish out loud or in my head before.  But once I started, Everything just worked out and I felt like the spirit was speaking for me!  It was amazing!!!  I LOVE THE HOLY GHOST SO MUCH!!! Now I know how scared my investigators are to pray outloud for the first time…But it feels so good afterwords. 🙂

Another really neat story.  We went back to the Westra’s house after they told us that they’d like to go on a church presentation. When we knocked on the door, she immediately told us to come in and asked us to join them for dinner!!  We had no plans for dinner! And she was SO SWEET when she found out that I could eat gluten.  She fixed me up a can of beans and an amazing Lebanese Salad.  I am so SHOCKED at people’s generosity. Honestly! Then we found out that she knows the people we live with.  This is no coincidence. 🙂 I AM IN THE BEST MISSION IN THE WORLD!!!  We pray they will have time to meet with us again.  They are still a little hesitant about the Book of Mormon and Church…

Charnelle.  Pray for Charnelle and the Sander Family!!  She invited us over to pick strawberries in this HUGE patch.  We got 3 huge bowls full and taught her the Restoration. She said she’d pray about baptism and said the thought of modern-day prophets is comforting. Yeah.  That’s an understatement. 🙂  She needs this soo badly though!  We can’t wait to teach her more!!

Joanne is feeling a little torn, but she let us come over and help her this week.  Service will warm hearts so quickly!  That is what we offer immediately after someone turns us down for more knowledge. 🙂

Anyways,  we love this work.  The Missionaries that are coming out are ASTOUNDING.  The new young ones put me to shame.  I’m so amazed at how the Lord is able to stretch us and pull us.  It’s pretty necessary though, otherwise we’d never grow! Haha that sounds so simple now that I write it out.

But I’m so thankful again for Heavenly Father’s miraculous forgiveness and for my forgiving companion.  I love the people here.  I love my area.  Life is hard sometimes, but it’s so GOOD!!  LOVES TONS!! 🙂
