Many are called, but few are FROZEN!!

It’s true!  My fingers might be blue from the wind chill, but Heavenly Father definitely has a way of keeping us warm when we are doing missionary work! 😉

We’ll start off with the best news!  We taught the Bennetts the Word of Wisdom on Monday and it was so cool because Becky testified of how true everything was.  Then we gave her a quit smoking package with a bunch of cinnamon mouthwash, toothpaste, grapefruit juice, ect. to get the smoky taste out of her mouth.  and She said, “Oh!  well, I already quit yesterday.” BAAAAH!!! I thought I sat on a rocket.  Sister England and I just about flew out of our seats!  I’ve known Becky Since September and we for SUREly thought she wouldn’t quit… NOR get baptized.  So the Lord (when combined with member’s sincere love) has completely softened her heart.

She came to church on Sunday and you can tell that her and Bro. Bennett are struggling this week, but they have so much faith that He asked for a blessing.  The ward has probably spent $3,000 helping them with their trailer that had no walls, no carpets, and one bathroom.  They have a 6 month old baby, a 10 year old, 8 year old, 9 year old, and the grandmother living in there with them and they only have 3 beds.  I’m just amazed at how the Lord is even helping them function.  It’s all because they are striving to live the Gospel.  It’s so touching to hear Brother Bennett say, “Ok, stop helping us build our trailor.  Can you teach my family about Jesus now?”  Ah!  I wish I could stay here in Iowa forever to see their family progress and go to the temple.  They have such strong spirits.  I will NEVER forget them, or the families that are helping them.

One family in particular (the Popes) gave us Christmas presents that are probably worth $200!  We are just insanely blessed here.  I came out on a mission to bless other people’s lives, but Heavenly Father is blessing me so much more than I could ever attempt to bless anyone else with! That’s why it’s so important to have a better relationship with Heavenly Father than with anyone else on this Earth!  Because HE will be the one supplying you with everything. 🙂

We had Leadership Council in Iowa City on Tuesday, then trained in 3 Zone Meetings in Ankeny, Ft. Dodge, and Ames.  We were only in our area to help with lessons for 1 full day!  I loved being so packed.  I just can’t imagine how busy the Assistant’s are because they gave 6 trainings!!!

We had supper with Jesse and Fern and had to call some repentance to them for living together… 😉 Hehe but the spirit helped us out SO much and it didn’t sound forceful or guilt-ridden. 🙂  We know that they will just be so much happier if they get married!  So pray that they will get an answer to get re-married. 🙂

LOVE you all as much as a font holds water!!

Merry Christmas!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Sister Tobias 🙂
