The Cultural Hall Book Club, September 2015: A Generation Rising by Gerald N. Lund

A Generation Rising, the first volume of Gerald N. Lund’s newest series, Fire and Steel, follows the journey of a German family during the First World War, then called “The Great War.” A story not just of history, but of humanity, Elder Lund pays particular interest to the way individuals are effected by war, tragedy, and calamity. It’s a story of family, faith, and the choices we make.

Gerald N. Lund, author of more than 2 dozen books, including the The Work and the Glory series and the Kingdom and the Crown series, has seen book sales exceeding 3.5 million, both in fiction and non-fiction. A teacher within the Church Educational System for his entire career, he was also called as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy from 2002-2008 during his retirement. Find out during his interview why one of his conference addresses was particularly nerve-wracking, as well as personal stories from his interactions with other general authorities. Elder Lund and his late wife, Lynn, are the parents of 7 children.
